FAQ

Your questions, answered

What does URGENT delivery mean?

We understand getting your NitKit out to you as fast as possible is super important, so we use Post Haste's URGENT courier delivery service.

This is an 'overnight by end of next working day' courier service, so assuming your order is placed with us before 4pm you should get it the next business day. Rural deliveries can take a little longer. A Track and Trace link is included on your confirmation email so you can keep an eye on your delivery.

No signature is required — the courier will leave the NitKit at your place if you're not in.

How does ISpy Glo-Powder work?

Our ISpy Glo-Powder is specially formulated to adhere to nit eggs and fluoresce under UV light for easy detection.

Not getting the glow you were hoping for?

A few quick things to check:

  • Make sure the hair is completely dry. Damp hair stops the powder gripping and dulls the glow — a quick blast with the hairdryer makes a big difference.
  • Work in a dark or dimmed room. Bright light washes the glow out — the darker the better.
  • Use a thin, even coat, then brush out the excess. Too much loose powder creates a haze; once you brush the excess away, only the powder stuck to the eggs glows.
  • Hold the UV light close and go slowly, section by section, focusing within about 10 mm of the scalp — the crown, nape and behind the ears.
  • Check your UV light — weak or flat batteries dim the glow.
  • Remember what you're looking for: a roundish orb glued to the hair shaft that won't brush away. See our Nit Spotting Guide for photos of real nits.
Could ISpy Glo-Powder harm my child's head?

While ISpy Glo-Powder is non-toxic, we recommend the following cautions:

Always read the label and use only as directed. Keep out of reach of children. For external use only.

Avoid contact with face and eyes. If contact does occur, flush with water. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

Not designed for regular daily usage. Not intended for children under 2 years of age.

Can I buy NitKits in stores?

NitKits are currently available via our online store and current pharmacy stockists.

What is ISpy Glo-Powder made of?

ISpyNits Glo-Powder is a proprietary blend of ingredients designed to (a) bind fast to and (b) amplify the natural bioluminescence of the amino acids found in lice eggs so they can be seen with the naked eye. The fluorescent is combined with corn starch and mica to create that special hold and glow!

ISpy Glo-Powder is non-toxic. The ingredients are naturally occurring; however, because they don't come from living organisms they are classified as inorganic and formed after mineral calcination.

Where are NitKits made?

The Glo-Powder is made in New Zealand from a combination of overseas and local ingredients. All our kits are hand-packed by the wonderful team at Will & Able.
