nit spotting guide

Glow Gallery

The Nit Spotting Gallery

Our Glo-Powder is designed to help you see what’s normally invisible — and we know it can be tricky at first to learn what an egg looks like.

Scroll down to see real examples of what to look for.

What am I looking for?

When you shine the UV light after applying Glo-Powder, you’re looking for:

A roundish, glowing orb shape

What am I looking for?

Usually attached close to the scalp on a single hair strand

What am I looking for?

Attached firmly to a hair (dandruff and sand move!)

What am I looking for?

Larger and more defined than the mica powder (which can have a sparkly effect)

How does it work?

It’s simple science.

Lice eggs (also called nits) are made up of proteins.

Our Glo-Powder is specially designed to bind to those proteins.

When you shine the UV light on the hair, the powder that’s clinging to the eggs will glow — showing you exactly where they are.

So what you’re seeing is:

Glo-Powder + Egg Proteins = Glowing Orb
